Nancy Adams Honored as Polo Woman of the Year
June 21, 2018
POLO—Parishioners of St. Mary Parish, here, have selected Nancy Adams to receive the 17th annual Woman of the Year Award.

She and her husband, Jim, have been active in the parish for 26 years. They have one daughter, Abby, and a granddaughter, Everlie.

Over the years, Adams has been a devoted and faithful member of the St. Mary Parish family and the Polo community. In selecting her for this honor, several parishioners noted that she has been active in virtually every parish activity.

For quite some time, she has volunteered to clean the church linens every week. She has been active in the Altar and Rosary Society for many years and has served as president and in other officer positions. She also serves on the “Chinese Auction” committee.

Adams coordinates the parish prayer chain and is active with St. Mary’s Elizabeth Ministry. She also serves on the funeral committee and helps with those dinners.

When one was needed, she stepped in briefly as the parish secretary.

She has also helped out as a volunteer money counter of weekly donations.

She volunteers time for Second Hand Rose, the Polo second hand store sponsored by local churches.

Adams was honored at the St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society luncheon on June 4 at White Pines Inn.

The Woman of the Year is chosen in a parish vote. Selection is based on her contribution of time and talent to the parish as well as to the community.
