Bishop Malloy Joins in Rededicating North America to Mary
May 7, 2020
Bishop David Malloy uses a laptop in his chapel to join bishops in the United States and Canada on May 1 to rededicate both countries to Mary. Archbishop Jose H. Gomez of Los Angeles, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, led the prayer of reconsecration May 1 at 2 p.m. Central time and invited the bishops to join in from their respective dioceses.

Bishop Malloy on April 29 rededicated the Rockford Diocese to Mary during his Wednesday video session for the diocese.

He continues to offer a video Mass on Sunday at 9 a.m. and the video blessing and inspirational message on Wednesday at noon. Find links to both at https://www.rockforddiocese.org/.

A basket of personal prayer requests sent to the diocese sits beneath the altar in the bishop’s chapel. The prayer requests have been submitted through the course of the year and normally rest next to the altar of the chapel in the Diocesan Administration Center in Rockford.

The bishop asked that they be brought to him so he can remember the requests daily in his prayers.
