Run Again with Team OLA In the Chicago Marathon
March 4, 2021
CHICAGO—Rockford runner, Sister Stephanie Baglia, FSE, is again seeking runners for Team OLA in the upcoming Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

Money raised through the marathon helps the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels (via the Franciscans of the Eucharist)  on the west side of Chicago. The mission has food pantries, afterschool programs, senior citizen programs, community meals, and more.

The marathon is scheduled Oct. 10 and registration is open.

If the race is cancelled, there will still be a Team OLA-only race, Sister Stephanie says.

There are a limited number of guaranteed entries for Team OLA, so she urges runners to sign up immediately.

Those who join the team receive t-shirts, attend a pre-race Mass and dinner, have a place to stay the night before the race, and more.

Sister Stephanie, an under-three hour marathoner, NCAA division I cross-country and track athlete who has been featured in Runner’s World, is willing to write a training plan for team members.

She was known in Rockford when she ran at Auburn High School and later at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.

Each team member also will be paired with a member of the prayer team to pray for them.
