Free Mental Health Course Set for April, May
March 24, 2022
ROCKFORD—The Cathedral of St. Peter will host a free eight-week series called “The Sanctuary Course for Catholics” on Tuesdays at 6:30-8 p.m. in April and May, beginning April 5.

The course is designed to raise awareness and start conversations in parishes regarding mental health, a topic especially relevant in today’s times of heightened anxiety.

The course was created in collaboration with Catholic mental health professionals, theologians and clergy.

It offers faith communities the opportunity to learn about mental health and grow in the ability to support members.

The sessions feature videos on a variety of topics with insights of archbishops, theologians and psychologists. Small group discussions will follow the videos. There is no homework, and all are welcome to take the course.

Registrations are requested but not required. Send your name, parish, email address and phone number to Mary Fuller, coordinator, at [email protected] or 815-520-7549.
