ROCKFORD—On Nov. 21, St. Elizabeth Catholic Community Center distributed turkeys, potatoes and trimmings for a Thanksgiving dinner to people in need who had signed up the previous week.

Additional meats were donated, so some patrons had the option of receiving a ham or beef roast instead of a turkey, and hopes were to have some left to distribute the following day to a few dozen others who had missed the earlier sign-up.

Cathy Weightman-Moore, director of Catholic Charities for the Diocese of Rockford, and Bishop David Malloy assisted with the Thanksgiving distributions.
