CRYSTAL LAKE—The “Mary, Mother of the Eucharist” McHenry chapter of Magnificat, an international ministry program for Catholic women, will host a prayer breakfast and guest presentation May 11, from 9 a.m. to noon., at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 1023 McHenry Ave. Seating will begin at 8:30 a.m. 

 

The breakfast will be open to both men and women (including nursing mothers). The guest speaker will be Sister Appolonia Irika, DMMM, of the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy. She ministered in Rome and Sicily before pursuing further education in the United States. She felt the call to serve as a chaplain in community hospitals, and she now serves at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. 

 

Ticket prices vary. Reservations must be made by May 8. Tickets purchased before April 27 will be $30, while tickets purchased after April 27 will be $40. The student price is always $20. Reservations can be made in-person until May 8 (cash/check only) at the Little Way Bookstore, 50 Brink St., Crystal Lake.

Individual prayer with the chapter’s prayer teams will be available immediately following the event.
