First Deacon Day Sept. 13

ROCKFORD—Deacon Information Days for the Diocese of Rockford will begin with a session at 10 a.m., Sept. 13.

Two additional sessions are scheduled Oct. 25 and Nov. 22, also at 10 a.m.     

They will be at the Diocesan Administration Building, 555 Colman Center Dr., here.

The meetings are open to men between 35- and 55-years old who are interested in learning about serving the Church as a permanent deacon. Wives of married men must attend with their husbands.

Attendance at one of the above meetings is mandatory before applying to the Diocesan Permanent Diaconate Formation program.

The two-and-a-half hour meetings provide  an overview of the formation program and the application process will be presented.

Interested men should speak with their pastor before planning to attend.
