April 11 Banquet Supports Pro-Life Efforts
March 27, 2015

MCHENRY—The third annual Pathway to Hope Banquet, a fundraiser for 1st Way Life Center, will be 6-9 p.m. April 11 at the McHenry Country Club, 820 N. Johns St.

The evening includes a formal sit-down dinner and keynote speaker Bethany Bomberger, co-founder of the Radiance Foundation. Bomberger is a teacher, speaker, and mom and wife of Ryan Bomberger, last year’s speaker.  She has a strong message about single parents, absent fathers and responsibility.

This year’s fundraising goal is to continue training the 1st Way Life Center and Pregnancy Support Services medical staff, sustaining the ultrasound project and reaching out to the community with a strong pro-life message through material, emotional and spiritual support.

In 2014, the center experienced a 62 percent increase in the number of clients served and became a limited medical facility.

Knights of Columbus local and national councils helped purchase an ultrasound machine, which is in use.

Among parishes of the Rockford Diocese’s McHenry Deanery that support 1st Way Life Center are Christ the King Church, Church of Holy Apostles, Resurrection, Sacred Heart, SS. Peter and Paul, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. Patrick, St. Thomas the Apostle, St. John the Baptist Church, St. Joseph, St. Mary in Woodstock, St. Mary in McHenry, and St. Peter.

This event is being underwritten so there is no charge to attend, donations will be accepted.
