St. Edward CCHS Tidal Wave to be April 11

ELGIN—”All that Glitters is Green and Gold” is the theme of this year’s St. Edward Central Catholic High School Tidal Wave fundraiser, to be held April 11.

The black-tie event will be the 26th annual auction and dinner dance for alumni, family and friends of the high school. It raises funds for needy student scholarships, technology improvements and classroom enhancements.

Honorees will include St. Edward Alumnus of the Year,  Maureen (Mueller) Kremer Class of 1988.  

She played on the 1985 girls’ basketball team that won the state tournament.  She went on to play basketball at Bradley University. After her college career, she entered the United States Air Force with a rank of lieutenant. She became a registered nutritionist, finishing her military career as a captain.

The St. Gregory the Great Award is given to a faculty or staff member who exemplifies excellence in education and works to enhance the school’s mission and the daily lives of the students. This year’s recipient is Joyce Gudino.   

The Loyal Order of St. Edward Award is given to a non- graduate who has made an extraordinary contribution to St. Edward High School. Winning the award this year is Dr. Ronald Winters. His dedication to the school’s mission and the Elgin community, especially the Life Center of Elgin, has earned him the award.  

The Patron of the Year Award for the 2015 Tidal Wave event is Wisdom Adhesives Worldwide. The organization has supported community efforts in the Elgin and surrounding areas including that of St. Edward Central Catholic High School.

Jeff Wisdom, Class of 1988, is the CFO of the company and Linda Wisdom Preston, class of 1979, is the vice president of operations.  

Tidal Wave will begin at 6 p.m., April 11, at the Chicago Marriott Northwest, 4800 Hoffman Blvd., Hoffman Estates. Cost is $125 per person.
