Prayer Breakfast Welcomes New Evangelization Author

CRYSTAL LAKE—The annual McHenry County Prayer Breakfast will be held this year on Saturday, Nov. 7, beginning with Mass celebrated by Bishop David Malloy at 7:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., here. It will continue with the prayer breakfast and program from 9-11 a.m. at Holiday Inn Crystal Lake, Route 31 at Three Oaks Rd.

A Youth Rally for ages 12 and up will take place the day before on Friday, Nov. 6
at 7 p.m. at Marian Central Catholic High School auditorium, 1001 McHenry Ave., Woodstock.

Both the breakfast and a youth rally (see box) will feature keynote speaker Father Michael Gaitley, a member of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception. Father Gaitley is the director of the Association of Marian Helpers, a spiritual benefit society, and author of several books including “33 Days to Morning Glory.” He preaches retreats across the country, frequently appears on EWTN, and has launched a pastoral initiative called “Hearts Afire: Parish-based Programs for the New Evangelization.”
