CRYSTAL LAKE—The annual McHenry County Prayer Breakfast will be held this year on Saturday, Nov. 7, beginning with Mass celebrated by Bishop David Malloy at 7:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., here. It will continue with the prayer breakfast and program from 9-11 a.m. at Holiday Inn Crystal Lake, Route 31 at Three Oaks Rd.
A Youth Rally for ages 12 and up will take place the day before on Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at Marian Central Catholic High School auditorium, 1001 McHenry Ave., Woodstock. Free, but registration is required at website: www.mchenrycountycatholics.org or with your parish youth ministry leader. |
Both the breakfast and a youth rally (see box) will feature keynote speaker Father Michael Gaitley, a member of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception. Father Gaitley is the director of the Association of Marian Helpers, a spiritual benefit society, and author of several books including “33 Days to Morning Glory.” He preaches retreats across the country, frequently appears on EWTN, and has launched a pastoral initiative called “Hearts Afire: Parish-based Programs for the New Evangelization.”
