Rosary Bead Heads To Olympic Trials

AURORA—Rosary High School senior Alexis Yager, a member of the Rosary Beads swim team, will be competing at the 2016 U. S. Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha, Nebraska, June 26 through
July 3.


She has qualified in four events:

  • - 400 Individual Medley (competion June 26)
  • - 100M Breaststroke - (competion June 27)
  • - 200 Individual Medley - (competion June 28)
  • - 200M Breaststroke - (competion June 30)

Prelims begin each day at 10 a.m. and will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Extra app. Finals begin at 6:45 p.m.

Alexis was the Illinois State Champion in the 200 Individual Medly and the 200 Free Relay (with Athena Ye, Kathryn Mueller, and Emily Ryan) at the 2015 tournament.

The Rosary High School Beads are the 2015 state swim champions, bringing home the State title as well as a winning four state championship swims.

Alexis broke the Rosary school record in the 200 IM with a time of 2:01.58 at the State tournament. She was named the 2015 Kane County Chronicle Girls Swimmer of the Year.Rosary Swimmer to Compete in Olympic Trials

Alexis is the daughter of Mark and Cindy Yager of Batavia and will be a senior at Rosary in the Fall.
