St. Charles Breakfast Stars Santa, Crafts and Christmas Posters
ST. CHARLES—The Knights of Columbus Council #12597 at St. Patrick Parish held a breakfast with Santa at the church on Dec. 11. The event also included a nativity craft and a “Keep Christ in Christmas” children’s poster contest with awards presentation. 
 
St. Joseph Candlelight Christmas Mass Marks Two Years
RICHMOND—Msgr. Martin Heinz, pastor of St. Joseph Parish, celebrated the parish’s second candlelit midnight Christmas Mass Dec. 25. Parishioners noted more attendees and more candles than there were at the 2021 Mass. Altar server Peter Soule played “The Holly and the Ivy,” which was then followed by hymns led by the choir. 
 
Aurora Knights Hold Holiday Breakfast
AURORA—The Knights of Columbus Council #14825 at St. Rita of Cascia Parish, joined by student volunteers, held a pancake breakfast with Santa on Dec. 4. 
 
Gifts from Catholic Charities a Christmas Surprise for Refugees
ROCKFORD—Janet Biljeskovic, director of Catholic Charities’s Refugee Resettlement Program, along with other members of Catholic Charities, distributed Christmas gifts from Holy Family Parish to refugee families. 
 
Crystal Lake Knights, Parishioners Support Troops in Christmas Collection
CRYSTAL LAKE—The Father McCormick Knights of Columbus Council #3880 and members of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish came together for their 2022 Christmas drive for Operation Support our Troops — America (OSOTA). Parishioners donated over 400 pounds of items for care packages for deployed military members. The Knights also donated $432 to OSOTA to sponsor the mailing of 12 care packages; Knight Rick Oliveira presented this donation to OSOTA executive director Linda Tuisl.
