Knights of Columbus Honor Retired Priests

DIOCESE—Two luncheons hosted by the Knights of Columbus honored the retired priests of the Rockford Diocese.
They were held in Rockford and Elgin on Oct. 18 and 19 “as a way to show our appreciation and thanks to these truly dedicated men for their many years of past service and, in some cases, continuing service within the Rockford Diocese,” say organizers.
Retired priests who could not attend were sent a gift of a reversible white and purple stole, a gift that was presented to those in attendance.
Those attending the Rockford luncheon included: Sir Knight (SK) Steven Zalas, SK Othello Garganera, Father William Schuessler, Msgr. P. William McDonnell, Msgr. Michael Tierney, Msgr. Gerald Kobbeman, and SK Bernard Van Ham.
Attending the Elgin luncheon were: SK Andrew Voloch, SK Curt Pepe, Father Geoffrey Wirth, SK Robert Schafer, Father Aloysius Neumann, SK Daniel O’Connell, Msgr. Joseph Linster, SK Mark Gannon, SK Bernard Van Ham, Father Paul White (who helped organize the event), SK Gregory Schuring and SK Steven Zalas.
