Fish fry: March 1-22, 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the parish hall. Menu varies by the week; weekly food includes fried or baked cod, baked tilapia, pizza, fries, garlic bread and soft drinks. Desserts are $1. Cost: $16/adult, $8/child (12 years and under), all takeout $16 each.

Men’s retreat: March 15, 6 p.m. through March 16, 4 p.m. Hosted on behalf of St. Margaret Mary Parish, Algonquin. Prayer, contemplation and discussion will be led by Father Paul Lipinski. Includes meals and housing. Cost: $150.

Parish mission: March 4-6, 7-8:30 p.m. Deacon Ron “Willie” Williams will speak on his experience walking the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James). His book on the pilgrimage will be availabe for purchase. Followed by a short concert of Matt Maher praise and worship music. Free will offering.

Parish mission: March 10-12, 7 p.m. in the church. Led by Father Jared Twenty, pastor of Holy Cross Parish, Batavia. The last night will have praise and worship music led by Dave and Lauren Moore, founders of Catholic Music Initiative. They are in charge of the music for the National Eucharistic Congress.

Parish mission: March 3-5, all at 6:30 p.m. Msgr. Eric Barr will speak on “the Eucharist: the closest way to meet God.”

Presentation and dinner: March 13, starting with a soup and salad dinner at 5:45 p.m. in the O’Neill Center. Followed by a 6:30 p.m. talk on the Eucharist by John Jelinek, diocesan Director of Religious Education and Formation.

St. Joseph table: March 17; two meals served in the school gym. There will be breakfast after the 7:30 a.m. Mass and a meatless meal after the 10:30 a.m. Mass. No cost; donations welcome.

Parish mission: March 3-5, all at 6:30 p.m. Father Sean Grismer, spiritual director of Aurora Central Catholic High School, will speak about the transforming power of the Eucharist with the theme “The joy of the Lord is my strength.” Fellowship afterward.

Filipino Lent prayer: Thursdays, 6:30 p.m. at the old St. Mary church at 10911 N. Woodstock St. Traditional Pabása ng Pasyón devotion of chanting the words from the Pasyón narrative of the life and death of Christ.

St. Joseph table: March 17, meatless meal served. Seeking volunteers to work, cook and supply dishes. Times to come.

St. Joseph altar: Novena will be March 8-March 16; altar blessing March 16. Viewing hours are March 16, 4-6 p.m., and March 17, 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the parish center across from the church entrance. Visitors can take home pasta, cake, bread and cookies. Cost: none.

Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Christ’s Passion, St. John, Ind.; and the Grotto of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lourdes in Munster, Ind. Will include tour, Mass, Stations of the Cross and lunch.
