Celebrations Honor St. Joseph
March 7, 2024

The following are celebrations in the Rockford Diocese
honoring St. Joseph around his feast day March 19.

APPLE RIVER
-- St. Joseph, 105 W. Webster St.

Patron saint celebration: March 16-March 19. Each day will have a rosary at 5:30 p.m., St. Joseph novena and Mass at 6 p.m. and refreshments provided afterward. Invitations extended to the parish communities of St. Joseph, Lena; and St. Ann, Warren. Will conclude with a potluck after Mass March 19.

AURORA

St. Joseph dinner: March 16, 6 p.m. Call the parish at 630-844-3780 for details.

ELBURN
-- St. Gall, 43 W885 Hughes Rd.

St. Joseph altar: March 16-17. Altar blessing will be after the 5 p.m. Mass March 17. Bring altar item donations to the church kitchen March 15, 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. Volunteers also sought for set-up on March 15 at 3 p.m. and take-down on March 17.

ELGIN

St. Joseph table: March 17 in the school gym. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the table blessing is at 4:30 p.m. Dinner to follow. Free will offering to benefit the parish.

HAMPSHIRE
-- St. Charles Borromeo, 297 E. Jefferson St.

St. Joseph table: March 17; two meals served in the school gym. There will be breakfast after the 7:30 a.m. Mass and a meatless meal after the 10:30 a.m. Mass. No cost; donations welcome.

HUNTLEY

St. Joseph table: March 17, meatless meal served. Seeking volunteers to work, cook and supply dishes. Times to come.

JOHNSBURG

St. Joseph table: March 16, 5-9 p.m. at Johnsburg Community Club, 2315 W. Church St. Italian food and celebration; includes raffles and auction items. Tickets at the parish office; suggested donations are $25/adult and $10/child (under 12 years).

LOVES PARK

St. Joseph altar: Starts with the novena at the parish March 8-March 16. The altar blessing will be March 16, 4 p.m. Viewing hours are March 16, 4-6 p.m., and March 17, 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the parish center across from the church entrance. Visitors can take home pasta, cake, bread and cookies. Cost: none.

MARENGO
-- Sacred Heart, 323 N. Taylor St.

St. Joseph table: March 10, meatless meal served from noon to 3 p.m. Seeking donations of salads, baked goods, pasta and seafood dishes.  Donations may be brought to the parish hall March 9 or the morning of March 10. All are invited for food, karaoke and fellowship. Free will offerings benefit the parish’s Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

St. Joseph altar: Celebration begins with a novena to St. Joseph March 8, 2 p.m., in the church. The altar will be blessed March 16 after the 4:30 p.m. Mass; coffee and cookies served afterward. Traditional meatless meal will be March 17, noon-3 p.m., in the church hall (handicapped-accessible). Free will offerings welcome.
